Flowgram Reflections

- Which version of the presentation do you think is a more effective teaching tool?
Obviously the presentation with the narration is much more effective than the pictures alone. I chose not to
add any extra text to the pictures in the final presentation, but relied on the narration to guide the "lesson."
- Did the images you originally selected convey messages or emotions that text or narration cannot?
The images I chose initially did not convey the message that I wanted it to convey. I'm not sure my students
would have figured out what we were talking about. Some of them would have, but others would have been
completely lost.
- How might students use the Flowgram tool in their learning experiences?
Students could create a summary of what they have learned in a unit / lesson by creating a Flowgram
presentation. All they have to do is have the images. I didn't completely figure it out, but it seemed as if you
could add in a word document instead of a powerpoint...definitely worth trying out in the future.
- How have these activities changed the way you will use PowerPoint in the future?
I will definitely think about what I put into a powerpoint. I have always tried to limit the text and only add
in the most important details while trying to find images that would portray the message I was trying to get
across. I will, now, begin thinking about how I can use narration in my presentations to take some of the
text out of the presentation all together to help students focus on the most important aspects of the
presentation.
